This is an amazing place. Absolutely beautiful. If you have water equipment like paddleboards, kayaks ect, the walk to launch is not fun. Especially with inflatable kayaks as they require pumps that hook up to your car to power because the psi is so high. Sure a single kayak with a hand pump is fine, doing 4 by hand is much harder. So walking to the beach with them is difficult, especially if it is a family affair. Other then that one issue I have nothing else negative. Clean restrooms, tons of bbqs and picnic benches. It really is a great place to come mid spring through summer.

We had the wonderful opportunity to stay, then Host the Group Camp. This gem of a park is beautiful, well maintained, and staffed with friendly helpful people. The park is located on Highway 7 between Elbe and LaGrande WA. The roads are well maintained and easily manipulated with a large rig. Reservations are suggested, this park is very popular and is often at capacity in the summer, and limited in the winter. The layout and areas of the park can be found on its website. The day use area is large, bathrooms are easily accessible. This area has a playground, many picnic tables, some with brasiers, paved trails and a swimming area which is ringing with laughter and ripe with the smell of sunscreen in the summer . With the beautiful scenery, the closeness of the metropolitan area and the amenities are well worth the day trip. Sunny Beach is a day use park that is physically separate from the main park. We did not visit this area. There are 4 separate rig areas with hookups that vary from site to site. It’s good to lookup the site location and amenities before you book. They are have campsites available across four campgrounds — Main, Osprey, Elk Plain, Rocky Point and group — including: 35 with water, electric and sewer hookups 74 with water and electric hookups 62 tent sites 35-site group camp with water, electric and sewer hookups. Tent camping is available also, see the online map. The boat launch is overflowing in the summer! The lake is stocked every spring. I spoke with a group in Late September who were catching their limits daily. Hands down one of my favorite places!

Really enjoyed this lake! THE view of MT. Rainier was off the hook!! We launched our kayaks from the boat launch, which was okay...lil crowded.. Not ALOT of room but do-able... We went begining of May so still a bit windy...There are so many stumps in the lake; so for boaters i would be careful to the outskirts of the lake... But for kayaking... Amazing !! Theres a little spot, u can see from the launch straight ahead to the left. A tree is hanging over a small erosion/cliff its on the bigger island shaped like a 🐟.... If your on a kayak pull in there. Its the perfect lunch spot.
