Love love it here! My happy place! Childhood memories on this crystal clear lake to finally buying 5 acres to build an amazing barndominium overlooking a panoramic view of all this serene beauty! So excited… ♥️ and only 2 1/2 hours from home..

If want the closest thing to a Florida beach minus salt and palm trees. No rocks or mud to walk through its actual long white sand beaches. Just be warned for that reason...alot of stickers. My dog found out the hard way.

Would you believe there are Sandy white beaches less than 4 hours from midtown Omaha?

This is seriously the clearest water.I feel like I have ever seen it. I loved getting to dip my feet in the water and get to see the beauty at this place. I do highly recommend that if you are traveling to see this, you take a stop at or around this place and get to see so many amazing options.

The calamus is an awesome sand bottom lake. Beware late in the summer when the water drops, but you can still launch a boat. There are launches in several places around the lake. As some grumpy people mentioned, yes, you do need a park sticker, but you can get them in Burwell at the pump n pantry or at the park office right after you turn off the highway. Not a big deal at all. Other things…good camping, good fishing, great scenery. Be safe and have fun!
