I loved the area and rock formations, but 5 stars would be misleading,as all day use areas are closed and the lake is drained for dam repair . Dog friendly and hot showers, back country hiking with permits

I've been coming here since my kids were tiny. My parents moved and I visited again when we brought my dad's remains back to the area perit hadn't been there in over 10 years and was so disappointed to find they were redoing the Lake! I'm sure once it gets finished and the water is refilled, it will be pristine! You could always be guaranteed of that turquoise/green water , just beautiful! I would have given it a 5 but couldn't since I didn't get to see the water this time. Still enjoyed a lovely picnic.

Great trail system. Clean climbs and flowing downhills. There are even fun trails to get back to your car! Highly recommended riding. You can park outside the state park and just pay the $2 per bike fee if you want to avoid the $10 ($5 in state) out of state, park fee.

What a beautiful and well maintained park! Some beautiful dry camping spots within walking distance of the lake. Hiking trails are well marked and give a variety of challenges.
