The lake and area are beautiful, the road to it is 11 miles of hell. Whoever is in charge of it should be fired! You would think with all of the fees they charge they could maintain the road to one of the prettiest places in Tonto National Forest.

Road not paved for about 10 miles... an suv or a truck can go faster... the route is pretty good for dirt biking and atv... spring is the best time to with nice whether and blooming flowers all around... camping grounds available... no stores around the reservoir

Aprox. 8 miles from the lake, the road turns into a bumpy dirt road, so take caution if you have a small car. But once there it is beautiful and peaceful. Alot of camping spots around the river. Boats are allowed on the lake and fishing is also allowed. (Yay!) My only two complaint about the place is that people leave trash, and the edges of the lake are littered with old cans glass bits and so on. Also people seem to go out there to do some target practice, we found bullet casings in some areas and there are signs everywhere stating the no shooting allowed rule. Otherwise it is a good spot to visit if you want to get away and not be far from home.

A very beautiful and quiet location, if you are looking to get out for some nature time and don't want to deal with the crowds at Bartlett it's the perfect place for you.
