- ★★★★★about 6 years agoPersonally, I never caught a thing. But then I only ever fished off the family pier, for maybe 20 minutes at a time and had to have my sister hook my minnow for me... I can’t stand to touch fish— too slimy. Still, it is a 5 star resort to me, because I had fun here. Our family had a humble lake house from the 1970’s up until quite recently. Forty years of east Texas pines and memories, gone but not forgotten. We were always big on spending the Fourth of July here, and watching all our neighbors firework productions. Houston County is a good lake for skiing, swimming, boating and tubing, and that’s just what we did. It is not remarkably beautiful in the traditional sense, it is man made after all, but it is charming and as of 15 years ago, it was still a place people waved to each other when driving past. You don’t get that anywhere these days. The lake is surrounded by narrow dirt roads lined with pine trees. Highly recommended.

- ★★★★★over 2 years agoI live in piney point. Near Frontier Camp. Across the street from what we call the "piney point party palace." 🥳 The owner and relatives and friends are bullying us with loud music, obscenities, and digging ruts into the road in front of our home with the loud trucks. They've been bullying the people on the corner for over 2 years now. Because they asked them to not squeel the tires on pavement next to their homes. Instead of stopping, They've been leaving marks all over the road to torment the man. Wake he and his family at all hours by going back and forth squealing tires. They've been attacking us since January 8th 2023. Because we asked them to turn down the loud music. I have hours of videos of their behavior and so do several other people in the neighborhood. I don't suggest piney point, I wouldn't send anyone to Frontier camp because they will hear his loud, in the middle of the night nasty rap music. He wakes me up with it or screams nasty things to me to make sure they wake me up. Last night started at midnight and went until 4 am. I turn the videos over to the sherriff and nothing happens because he has dinner with the owner of the property weekly. So. No. I don't suggest this lake for anything. Not sorry.
