We decided to walk on one of the trails here since it seemed most of the trails in the Boise National Forest were closed, we did not regret it! So glad we found this place! We took the Crown Point trail. We saw a single deer on our way in who found a buddy on our way out and crossed the trail right in front of us, it was a super neat experience! Also adorable chipmunks everywhere which were very mentally stimulating for one of my dogs who goes crazy for scent trails. Multiple offshoot paths that go to the lake banks/beaches which are wonderful to sit on and just listen to the wildlife. Better than any city spa you could possibly go to if you ask me! The views are breathtaking and unreal. The water is beautifully crystal clear but ice cold (like most northern water), I would have still swam in it if I had brought a swimsuit! It has mile markers along the trail so you know how far you have gone. Be sure to bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated! Thank you Cascade, ID for the magical experience!

One of my favorite places. Take a drive over the dam. It’s only one lane so be careful. Continue on the road and you will meet up with Highway 55. Or head the other direction and check out the State Park campsites.

This is a great place for any type of water sport. The lake tends to get a little windy in the afternoon plus all of the boat traffic makes the water a little choppy, if you're into water-skiing and like the glassy water, early morning or early evening is when I've found those perfect conditions. Especially early morning, just after sunrise and you're the first one on the water. Just you, your skis, mother nature and water as smooth as silk. The lake is not that deep, which is why the water is rough on breezy days. Opposed to Payette lake which is very deep on the north end past the narrows at almost 400' deep, maybe deeper. The lake doesn't cover as much area as Lake Cascade. As always leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉.

Beautiful! Was only there two nights. It rained the entire day and night, but it was so lovely. The camp hosts were so nice and everyone was friendly!
