Small watercraft can use the pond for paddling, or fishing and moose are often seen along it's shores. There is snowmobile and atv trails crossing the area and hunting and fishing opportunities all around the region. Just up the street rafting and year round resorts offer a one of a kind experience on the Kennebec and Dead rivers. Just off of route 201 there is a rest area where you can stop and admire the views.
