About Pettit Lake
Escape to Pettit Lake, Idaho! Nestled in the beautiful Idaho countryside at 83340, Pettit Lake consistently earns a 4.8-star rating from visitors, and it's easy to see why. This tranquil lake is a fantastic spot for a relaxing getaway.
Whether you're looking to spend a day fishing, or perhaps a longer trip with some camping, Pettit Lake offers a variety of options. Fishing is often good here, though specifics on allowed species and facilities are unavailable at the moment. Swimming is popular, with areas suitable for both shallow-water fun and deeper swimming. Always exercise caution when swimming, of course, and be aware that some areas are deeper than others. For a gentler pace, rent a kayak and explore the lake from the water. Boating is often permitted, though again, specific regulations aren't readily available. If you're planning on bringing your furry friend, it's best to check the current rules regarding dogs before your visit. Camping might be available nearby, so it's worth checking into that as well.

Another visitor gave it a perfect five-star review, describing it as a peaceful and beautiful spot ideal for a relaxing day on the water.

- ★★★★★about 2 years agoThis alpine lake near Stanley, Idaho has incredibly beautiful picturesque views almost everywhere you look. The water is exceptionally clear and perfect for kayaking or paddleboarding. The Tin Cup Trailhead also provides day hiking and backpacking opportunities
- ★★★★★about 2 years agoIt was a cloudy day when we went but still a quiet beautiful place. The water was so clear! Would love to come back in the summertime to explore this area more
- ★★★★★over 2 years agoGreat place to get away and camp ,fish, hike I highly recommend it...and to top it off the campground host was a outstanding fella who was very helpful to any questions we had...
- ★★★★★about 3 years agoPettit lake was one of the most beautiful lakes I have been able to enjoy being in. Water is clear and blue, not so cold but still fresh. Waters are very shallow around edges so it is really safe for kids to be around as it is only 3-4ft deep especially around Pettit lake campground.
- ★★★★★over 1 year agoAlways a wonderful place to stay - amazing swimming (shallow enough to see the bottom), SUP, and paddle boarding. Best sites are #12 or 13 at the end……..unless, spoiler alert, someone decides to run their very loud generator ALL DAY (9-6pm, and again 9-9.30pm!!) because they chose to work off grid while others have paid money to listen to their noise versus the peace/quiet this beautiful place deserves! Campers - if you have to run a noisy generator then there are enough dispersed camping spots about 2 minutes away (turn right towards horse trail starting area) - please be respectful of others trying to escape the noise versus listen to your racket!
