- ★★★★★almost 3 years agoAwesome place to spend a night! Sunrise was out of this world beautiful! Campground was quiet despite the highway being so close. It’s down a little hill, which protected from the sound. Pit toilets were clean. And there’s a 3 mile trail all the way around the lake.
- ★★★★★about 2 years agoOn a drive from Las Vegas to Cathedral Gorge - used this space for a little pause from driving and to walk a part of the trail here. Took some nice pictures. Was it worth.
- ★★★★★almost 2 years agoThis is a nice lake with a very tranquil atmosphere around. There are more people here than on the Lower Pahranagat Lake, but the area is still very nice.
- ★★★★★over 6 years agoCame here for a night of camping and fishing in the morning. Camping was AWESOME, so fun, totally free, 15 designated spots and when we came on a Saturday night in July there was only one other party so we had our choice of spaces. The fishing, on the other hand wasn't so great. The areas near the lake where you can fish are very weedy and we kept getting line caught. My hubby did catch a nice carp, but this was after much frustration with cutting the lines we lost. Would definitely come to camp again but not fish.
- ★★★★★about 5 years agoThis is a wonderful place to picnic for the day or stargaze at night. It's not considered true dark, but it's got so little light pollution that you will have no problem seeing every star in the sky, visible planets, and the milky way on a dark night before moonrise or on a new moon. I went to watch the Perseids Meteor Shower here and had a fantastic time. It's calm, quiet, filled with wildlife (it's a bird refuge), and most areas are far enough from the road that you don't hear or see traffic. I will always drive here from Vegas to view stellar events.
