Such a gorgeous hike! The lake is beautiful and it’s nestled in the breathtaking mountains of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Most of the snow has melted except for a short segment of the trail about 1 mile from the peak. The hike is about 10.5 miles round trip.

I didn’t make it all the way up the trail to the lake. There was still literally five or six foot high snow banks on the trail and that was in early June 2023. I think it will be gone by July so I’m going to try it again. I did make it almost three miles in. I think the map said the lake was four miles in. From what I saw it was amazing. The surrounding mountains were beautiful. I am determined to make it back there soon. Maybe we will bump into each other.

Difficult hike. very steep all the way up to the lake. The hike is 10.5 miles in total and takes us about 5 hours to walk from the trailhead.

The road is a difficult one, like about 20 minutes before to get to that lake. But it was really worth it. It was an amazing hike for me and my dog!

Beautiful area. Could just be me, but I was slightly confused at some of the trailhead directions—hiked until I ended up here almost by accident. All things considered, well worth anyone’s time. Beautiful panoramas all around, and a great place to bushwhack a few mountains.
